Departmental Grants
The departmental grant program supports research in chemistry and closely related fields by departmental faculty members, and provides an opportunity for students to gain experience in laboratory research. The program provides students with the tools they need to gain and develop an interest in pursuing a career in chemistry. This funding supports students with scholarships, lab equipment and chemicals as well as travel to industry meetings and conferences. The program focuses on small and medium-sized educational institutions in Texas.
Applications are restricted to colleges and universities in the state of Texas that offer undergraduate degree programs in chemistry, biochemistry or chemical engineering. The colleges and universities should also be an authorized educational institution by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
Proposal submissions are by invitation only and must be submitted through proposalCentral between August 1 and by noon on September 15 of each year to be considered for the next grant year.
