Carin Barth is co-founder and President of LB Capital, Inc., a private equity firm established in 1988 that focuses its investments on the energy, staffing and financial services industries. She currently serves on the board of Enterprise Holdings LLC, the General Partner of Enterprise Products Partners L.P. (NYSE: EPD), Black Stone Minerals, L.P. (NYSE: BSM), where she is lead director and chair of its Audit Committee, Group 1 Automotive, Inc. (NYSE: GPI), where she serves as chair of its Audit Committee, and Vertex Energy, Inc as the Chair of its Compensation Committee. She is also an Operating Partner to Mountain Capital Management, LLC. Additionally, Ms. Barth is a board member of the Memorial Hermann Foundation.

She has had several decades of public company, private and non-profit board experience, including serving BBVA USA Bancshares, Inc., Western Refining, Inc., Encore Bancshares, Inc., Amegy Bancorporation, Halcon Resources Corporation, and Bill Barrett Corporation boards, respectively. She was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as Chief Financial Officer of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development from 2004-2005. Ms. Barth previously was a Commissioner of the Texas Department of Public Safety from 2008-2014, on the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents from 1999-2005 and a Director for The Ronald McDonald House of Houston for over 20 years. Ms. Barth also served on the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Housing Commission and the Urban Land Institute’s Terwilliger Center for Housing.

In recognition of her business and civic involvements, Ms. Barth has received the NACD Directorship 100 Award, the University of Alabama - Culverhouse Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award, an Honorary Doctorate Award from Texas Tech University, and the Distinguished Young Alumni Award from the Owen Graduate School of Management. Ms. Barth received a B.S. from the University of Alabama, summa cum laude, and an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management.
